Serving others during National Barbecue Month
May is National Barbecue Month, and we’ve decided to spend the month in service to our communities. All month long, our teams will be bringing our bringing award-winning smoked meats and house-made sides to folks in local shelters in every market we serve:
Our Chicago teammates brought dinner to Unity Lutheran Church of Berwyn’s homeless shelter (and worked with youth volunteers to bake cookies on-site for dessert!).
In Kentucky, our Lexington team have already served at the Hope Center, and our Louisville team will serve at Volunteers of America’s Family Emergency Shelter later this month.
Up in Ohio, our Cincinnati teams will bring barbeque to folks at City Gospel Mission, Columbus teams will bring dinner to the men’s shelter at Faith Mission Emergency Shelter, Toledo teammates will serve families at Family House Toledo, and our teams in Dayton will be feeding folks at the St. Vincent de Paul Gateway Shelter for Men.
Our Indianapolis teams will serve dinner to families at the Dayspring Center, and our folks in Atlanta will bring dinner to one of Women’s Resource Center’s safe houses.
And in North Carolina, our Charlotte teams will serve the Harvest Center of Charlotte as well as Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen, while Raleigh will bring dinner to both the Shepard’s Table Soup Kitchen and the Salvation Army of Wake County’s Family Emergency Shelter.
We’re also celebrating National Barbecue Month by releasing the first in an annual series of hand-drawn, hand-printed, hand-signed posters. Want one? You’ll need to act fast: only 150 individually numbered prints will be produced!
You can snap up one of these incredible silkscreened posters for $40—a verylimited quantity will be available for purchase at each of our joints—and all proceeds support our charitable efforts for National Barbecue Month.
