Thank-you notes to veterans

On Tuesday, November 11, City Barbeque donated thousands of meals to active military and veterans in honor of Veterans Day, while working with Elderheart to spread awareness of their Mission 22 campaign to thousands visiting one of the 23 locations that day. All City Barbeque locations participated by giving one free half pound sandwich platter to each Veteran for either dine-in or carryout orders.

In an email, US Army Veteran, Scott Arndt said, “Thank you for your support of veterans. I took you up on your lunch offer and really enjoyed it. I went to the Avon, Indiana store with a Navy Veteran buddy and the coolest thing to see were the young people taking their parents and grandparents who served to lunch. What a nice picture of family and community you created.”

Elderheart is a Veteran organization that does community projects as well as public, private and corporate art to raise awareness for the 22 Veteran suicides that occur every day. Their purpose is to employ and empower Veterans while raising this awareness. Mission 22 is an Elderheart campaign designed to raise awareness about the devastating fact that 22 U.S. military veterans commit suicide every day as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
