City Barbeque serving those in need for National Barbecue Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio—May is National Barbecue Month, and teams at City Barbeque will spend the month bringing award-winning smoked meats and house-made sides to food-insecure folks in the communities they serve. Throughout the month of May, City Barbeque teammates will serve barbeque in local shelters in each of the company’s 11 current markets: Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Cincinnati, Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, and Chicago.
“When we say our purpose is to serve and create happiness, we really mean it,” said City Barbeque Founder and CEO Rick Malir. “Throughout this month, all our teams will be getting out into the community, sharing our food with folks who might not be able to enjoy it otherwise. We think everyone should get to celebrate National Barbecue month.”
The company will further commemorate National Barbecue Month by releasing the first in an annual series of hand-drawn, hand-printed, hand-signed posters. Only 150 individually numbered prints will be produced, with a very limited quantity available for purchase at each of the restaurant’s 35 locations. Each silkscreened poster will retail for $40, with all proceeds supporting the month’s charitable efforts.
